The Blue Creek Elementary School Foundation’s mission is “to promote excellence in education by providing opportunity and resources to students, faculty and staff of the district.” The Foundation was established in 2007 as a grass roots organization formed to help facilitate fundraising efforts for a new school building for grades 5-8 in our district, with the current building planned to house grades K-4. As the need for this expansion changed, this plan was tabled and completion of the project did not occur.
The Foundation regrouped and has focused its efforts on supporting other projects that benefit Blue Creek Elementary School and its students. The Foundation has contributed significant monetary support to projects the school has needed including a new gymnasium floor, new bleachers, new lunch tables, and the new safer playground structure for the students. This support has allowed the school district to spend budgeted funds in other places that directly impact our students.
To clarify the role of the Foundation it is important to distinguish its purpose compared to that of the School Board and the PTA, which are also integral supports to the school.
We sincerely thank all of the school families and community members who have contributed to fundraising projects through the Foundation. As we continue to provide funding for school projects, we appreciate any continued support. All monetary contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible. Donations can made by clinking on the donate link below or can be sent directly to the school at any time, where they will be given to a Foundation Director, who will send a receipt for tax purposes.
If you have further questions regarding the Foundation or are interested in becoming a member, please contact one of our Board Directors. We look forward to partnering with fellow community members to continue to provide financial support to our school!

- The purpose and roles of the School Board and its trustees include: responsible for budgeting/fiduciary responsibilities, hiring/firing agency of the District, creating/updating school policies, negotiating contracts, and participating in collective bargaining.
- The purpose and roles of the PTA include: to fundraise to support the school, schedule events such as lunch buddies, Chili Cook-off, and other fun activities, support and advocate on behalf of families and students, volunteering and teacher support.
- The purpose and roles of the Foundation include: to provide resources for bigger ticket items to allow the school to use its funds in other areas and also to make connections with alumni and the community at large. The Foundation offers an opportunity for community members, who may not be directly involved in the school, to continue to support the school through monetary donations.
